Orientated strand board、 also known as oriented particle board、 oriented particle board、 or OSB board (abbreviated from its English name Oriented strand board)、 is a type of particle board. Directional fiberboard、 also known as oriented particle board、 oriented particle board、 or OSB board (abbreviated from its English name OrientedStradboard)、 is a type of particle board made by interlacing and pressing various chopped wood. Invented by Armin Elmendorf in California、 USA in 1963. In 2014、 Romania became the largest exporter of OSB boards to the European Union、 with 28% of its produced OSB boards exported to Russia and 16% exported to Ukraine. OSB boards also account for over half of the market share in the North American construction industry.
