Some rubber has an uneven tearing propagation (discontinuous tearing)、 which makes it difficult to analyze the results. Method B、 Test Procedure (a) Using a right angle specimen without a cut、 this test is a combination of tear initiation and tear propagation. The stress at the right angle point rises enough to cause initial tearing、 and then the stress further increases until the specimen tears. However、 only the total force required to destroy the specimen can be determined. Therefore、 the measured force cannot be decomposed into the two components that produce the onset of tearing and the propagation of tearing. Method B、 Test Procedure (b): Use a cut right angle specimen. This test involves pre cutting the specimen and determining the force required for its expansion and tearing. The expansion speed is not directly related to the stretching speed. Method C; Using crescent shaped specimens、 this test also involves pre cutting the specimen to determine the force required for its propagation and tearing、 and the propagation speed is independent of the stretching speed.
