There are four main basic forms of welded joints: butt joints、 T-joints、 corner joints、 and lap joints
A butt joint is a joint formed by arranging the edges of two steel plates relative to each other and aligning their surfaces in a straight line. This type of joint can withstand significant static and vibration loads、 making it the most commonly used joint form in welded structures
A T-joint is a welded joint formed by two components that are perpendicular or inclined to each other at a certain angle. This type of joint welding operation is quite difficult、 and the ability of the entire joint to withstand loads、 especially vibration loads、 is relatively poor. Due to the complex and diverse composition of structural components、 this type of joint is also one of the more common forms in welded structures
Corner joint is a joint welded on the top edge of two steel plates configured at right angles or a certain angle. Corner joints are not only used for angled connections between plates、 but also commonly used for angled connections between tubes and plates or between tubes
Lap joint is a joint form where two steel plates are stacked together、 and the edges of the stacked ends are welded using plug welding or slot welding.
